There are some other ways to check your real internet speed. However, you need to know what to look for and what internet plan you use from your internet provider.

I will tell you how I check my internet speed manually. First, I need to know my exact signed internet service plan. For my current connection, this value is 15 Mbit/sec for download and 1.2 Mbit/sec for upload.

So basically, I need to convert these values into Mbytes or bytes. That is because that value is displayed when I download or upload something on the internet.

To do that, simply follow this formula:

(SPEED * 1024) / 8
Note: Change SPEED in your current connection speed!

So in this case it would be (for download speed) like this: (15*1024)/8. The output result is displayed in kilobytes, in this case is 1920. And 1920 kilobytes is 1.876 Megabytes.

Ideally, my internet speed is going to be around 1.9 Mb/sec. So that in every single second I may download 1.9 MB of data from the internet by using IDM or Torrent.
